sandra_henderson
How do you guys set up your booth for bridal shows? Do you have large prints made, wedding albums, brochures, business cards?
scarolinael
Yes to all that you mentioned, and I had a special sign made that props on an easel that I put on the table it looks just like my business card, and I usually have a wedding bouquet made for the table also
skip hansen
Yes, the display is important...do the things you mentioned...and two more things. Develop a personality and be there! So many photographers don't even work their own bridal show exhibit, they have their assistants (usually family) work them. They, more often than not, have no in-person skills. Shake hands, hand out your cards, talk to the people, and sell yourself (by being yourself). You'll be putting yourself in a unique category: being a personable, friendly, wedding photographer. Besides the framed "money shots", have a large album with a lot of the other shots they're looking for: impromptu shots, pre-wedding, reception, etc. Remember, you'll be working against photographers who work on referrals, the Golden Egg of any service business. Good luck, Skip
scarolinael
I would never let someone else represent me at a Bridal show, family or not this is my bread and butter and I am the only one that can be there. I feel if you can't be there don't book it.
timcorridan
do any of you bring some home made cookies? ( not messy ones of course) or any other tricks besides the obvious paraphenalia. (i'm sure a good spellar, huh)
scarolinael
Hi Tim, No I never bring cookies the wedding cake bakers are always passing samples out so no need to, I am just there to shake hands and talk to prospective clients, we usually have a good turn out and a good response to these shows.
