www.wesleyalmond.com
I now own a simnple flatbed scanner with backlit neg scanning options. What should I know (dpi, color bits etc) and what formats do most labs need? I want the best picture I can get from low end one hour photo labs Thanks -wes
coconutdaydream
high quality jpeg's would work
but if you're getting drug-store prints
you'll get drug-store quality, just a thought
freehueco
If your monitor is properly color balanced, your prints should come out fine. Assuming your lab uses a Frontier: 300 DPI (1800x1200 for a 4x6), 8 bit, jpeg... Also, if the lab has an Aladdin machine, don't use it. The prints will come out better if they are printed on the Frontier.
scott ream
I've found that the images from the Fuji Frontier at the wal-mart look exactly the same as they do on the screen. I usually scan at high res (4800 dpi), do any color corrections, then crop to the EXACT size@300dpi. If you don't crop to the size you wan't (4x6, 5x7, 8x10) it will, I believe, crop from the center of the image. Scott
