cdascher
Can the 300D batteries be used in a 20D without a problem (other than they won't last as long). Also, can the charger for the 20D be used on the 300D batteries. Thanks.
chrisjb
No reason FAIK, my D30 batteries last longer in the 20D as the 20D is more efficient on power.(needs less to run) have fun
paul -
Why do you think they are different? Any BP-511 batteries and chargers can be used for the D30, D60, 10D, 300D, 20D.

awindsor
Chris has correctly noticed that the 20D ships with the new higher capacity BP-511A. However you can use the older BP-511 model without any problem.

jean_jacques_lemaire
I can say at least it is the case between NB-2L and NB-2LH batteries and chargers. (Powershot S and RebelXT batteries).
I guess that the 3rd contact named "T" seems to be a test for their charge. It reaches a certain tension when the battery is full, otherwise, the charger continues to charge them.
So, it doesn't matter whether you use an older or newer charger with an older or newer battery
At least, it seems verified in the practice :)
