bj_bignell
Our friend Hal has arrived in Edmonton. He's in beautiful condition, and ready for action. The plan? A long weekend of camping and fishing, and then hopefully amotorcycle ride, and finally a stop at West Edmonton Mall for sometouristy photo taking at the world's largest shopping andentertainment complex. I don't know who's next, but I know that other Canadian members haveexpressed interest... Someone speak up soon, or he'll have to go home! andre_reinders
Welcome to Alberta HAL! (from Calgary, AB) BTW - What exactly is HAL? I mean I can assume it is a camera that has been shared...but can someone enlighten me? Thanks!!
bj_bignell
"Hal" is a Halina camera being sent around the world. He originated in England with Andrea Ingram, and he's been around some of Europe and the United States. The idea is to shoot a roll or two, and pass him on to the next participant, whomever that is. We didn't really plan the route in advance. When no-one else wants him, he goes back home. If you want more information, and some history, there's a number of threads in the archives by CE Nelson, Bueh, Andrea, and others, regarding this camera. andrea_ingram
Hal in Edmonton hey? Are you taking him to the World Masters Games that are going on there at the moment? One of my team-mates [Derek Smith age 74] has just won gold and silver in the cycling!!

nancy_bueler
B.J., you can send Hal to me in Toronto, unless someone else in Canada wants him first. I'm sure I can find lots of cool stuff to photograph here in The Big Smoke! Send me an email to let me know if that's ok. Nancy
