jaimie blue Posted April 11, 2006 Share Posted April 11, 2006 Went to WPPI this weekend bought a digital, flash, and lightsphere. Met fellow photo-netters, Stacy and Mary, and Rich Taylor. It was great fun meeting them. Was lured totally by the trade show and flitted in and out of some seminars, but it was the trade show that was so unbelievable to me. ALL THAT STUFF! Right then and there. The place was mobbed, jammed packed, and it was almost impossible to get thru to Midwest photo, Sammy's, Unique, etc...but I did. What was really interesting to me was the packaging of the lightsphere, one single lightsphere in a sleek hip black paper shopping bag with white lettering, but here is the thing, almost everyone was buying one. Hundreds of people walking around with the bag and or lightspheres on their cameras. Of course I bought one too. I have decided that next year I won't bother with the seminars, will bring lots of money and credit cards and just buy more stuff. It was one of the best experiences I have had since becoming a wedding photographer and I recommend it and hope more photo-netters attend next year. Cheers! My husband would have gone with, and he probably would have been hanging out at his good friend's store there in Vegas where some gunmen shot 6 people this weekend. Thank God for unanswered prayers! Fortunately, nobody was killed. Anyhow, maybe next year I can go! I wanted to go this year so bad, and even picked out the seminars I wanted to attend. I love trade shows, too. I didn't buy anything on the floor, but I certainly enjoyed listening to Denis Reggie talk about his use of lighting and high ISO shooting. jaimie blue Posted April 11, 2006 Author Share Posted April 11, 2006 Really would have liked to have gone to more seminars but was working most of the entire time WPPI was here and dashed out to catch a couple, but while there had to go to the trade show too and then did not want to leave until I had to go back to work to shoot a wedding.
