larrydressler
Well I took this plastic wonder out loaded with a roll of Arista.edu ultra 100. I souped it in Diafine. I think I found a great camera for cemataries. It is sharp in the center and loses it from there out. This is the Camera I got for under $20.00 with shipping from Porters Camera. diwan_bhathal
Larry: Fully automatic camera, eh? No batteries, no focus adjustment and no exposure to worry about. Please, keep in on the leash ( shoulder strap ) at all times, this thing is so light that it may fly away. Great photos. Isn't Foma 100 a great film? Please, do not use this camera exclusively in cemeteries, need to take it out for something different. Feed it some more Foma. How much did you said that you paid for it? Where are the light leaks? One bit of advice: Keep it out of direct sunlight, otherwise you run the risk of the sun melting the plastic...hehehe. Best.
april_rocha___south_centra
What kind of camera is this?
larrydressler
No it has bateries for the film advance It is like one of those Nikkos. No light leake the motor drive is real noisey and ot is a blast to take out. it has a waist level finder and an eyelefel f 6-3-16 shutter speed looks about 60-100th. the potato masher flash weighs about a pound by it's self and runs on 2 AA bateries. the link is on an earlyer post it is at Porter's.com I think some high speed color film at a Fair or carnival whould be cool .... stephen hazelton
Well, I see Porter's has dropper their standards on advertising. This is a "scam camera" intended to make you think it's an SLR when it's not, and they don't tell you any different in the ad, either. Shame on them. I've seen or read about cameras like this that actually included weights in the camera for no other reason than to make it "feel" more expensive. Check out my "Dollar Camera" folder for another approach to cheapo cameras.
larrydressler
Stephen I don't think any sain person would fall for it I am not Sain so who cares. I always wanted one of these and getting one from a company with a return policy and not off the Bay with a shit load of shipping counts. It is also in the clearance bin. And the camera I got was even better it had a self timer on it....... This is Fantastic Plastic not a real camera....... Geeeees Larry<div></div>
david_m
Cemeteries are one of my favourite subjects and you have captured some good pictures there. My favourite is the 'House' memorial because of the sentiment to his wife "The memory of her faithfull life sings like an angel in my heart". Imagine someone saying that today. todd frederick
Larry...you did a good job. It looks almost like a real camera! (^O^) Have lots of fun with that, my friend. That's what they're all about!
larrydressler
Todd Thanks *g* Next Saturday it goes to a car show. That should be fun. Not to mention that since I do my own film ...except C-41 because I have a pro lab here that will hi rez scan them for me cheaper than Wal-Mart. I can use what ever I want in it and have fun. todd frederick
A car show is an idea place for a Holga. for some reason, it seems that I can use almost any kind of film (100-400) and be casual with setting focus which I often forget to do, and the photos are always fine. Interesting.
bill_force
I wonder if I'd get arrested and kicked out of a concert for having a "pro-level" camera with me (no flash allowed of course). :) I thought you stated that it was a bargain.....it comes with no batteries. :(
