m.v.
Hello all. Thought I'd ask if anyone might know of a good self-timer for use with my new MP. Ideally, I'd like something to equal the MP's build quality, and aesthetic (ha-ha), but in reality, would settle for something that is small, simple to use, and reliable. I've visited B&H's website, and have seen a few "universal" mechanical versions (Hama, Kalt, and Samigon), but wonder if there's something better suited for the MP? Finally, I would also consider a "wireless" remote shutter release - provided there's one that would fit the MP. Thanks for your help! M.V. braden_barclay
There are so many different self-timers out there to choose from. Just pick the smallest one that has an adjustable depth. They should only be $10-$15.
michaelkh
there's a nifty japanese clockwork beastie in the Speedgraphic catalogue (www.speedgraphic.co.uk for the PDF catalogue). Their code for it is KDST.
billsr
I recently got one of B&H house brand timers for around $12.95. They have at least 3 models in stock at differing prices but they all look the same! Mine works fine, I'm sorry if the price is too low for you! Also, try the rubber bulb release with a 20 foot airline. It's neat, simple, foolproof and only about 12 bucks at B&H. You can easily get into a group shot without showing the device, just step on the bulb! The bulb is more convenient than the timer as there is no time delay. You choose when to fire the shutter. Best regards, Bill
