fino
My b+w prints are too blue. I've selected the correct paper type, what could I be doing wrong? Any tips appreciated.
digitmstr
You are not gtiving enough details: 1) paper 2) printer profile (is it the default that came with it)? 3) what color space is your image 4) is the printer driver set to "grayscale" or not. Be that as it may, try adding 20% yellow.
fino
[1 paper] Premimum Glossy [2) printer profile (is it the default that came with it)?] Default yes. [3) what color space is your image] Its a greyscale image [4) is the printer driver set to "grayscale" or not.] Yes it is. Thanks for your help. steven_clark
Is the printer set to Black only? This will be grainier but it may yield much more neutral prints as the color inks will go unused.
paul_sokal___dallas__tx
Depending which country's software you have, the driver controls are different. In the UK version there's a check box for grayscale. On the US version there's a dropdown menu to select neutral, cool, warm tones for B&W. If you have the US version you might try printing at the warm setting.
fino
Checkbox is set at greyscale OK, I'm in Ireland so I assume thats the same version as the UK version.
brian_mcintosh1
Try printing it after converting the file back to (or just to, if originally greyscale) rgb. (Image->Mode->RGBColor if using PS). See if that helps at all.

adam_swift
Enjoy reading the forum as I'm always learning something but thought I'd add some tips. I have a uk spec 1800 from almost day one of release. With a bit of searching (as the manual is of LITTLE use)I found you can use the drop down greyscale menu like the US version. I convert my images to grey scale in photoshop then on your printer properties select the advanced tab, under Colour Management select PhotoEnhance, select Tone (scroll menu - Auto correct) and you will see the B/W tone settings. I find the Neutral grey works very nicely. Have never used the greyscale check mark. Have been printing on Ilford Gallerie smooth pearl with some exellent results. Good luck Regards Adam
