shambrick007
Seems like you have the best opinion - your results. It's doubtful this lens is made be "Voighlaender", but by some Japanese/Chinese 3rd party. Can you provide a link to a picture or any other info about this lens? JosvanEekelen
Voigtl䮤er lenses are made by Cosina, at least the autofocus ones. In general these are marketed under several brands: Cosina, Voigtl䮤er, Vivitar, Soligor and some others. In general these are not highly rated but YMMV. ulrich_brandl
Voigtlaender was a very well reputed optical company, first bought by Zeiss and finally sold as brand name only to the German Ringfoto Group. Production now is mainly in China (by Cosina). Today they produce very good primes for the Bessa rangefinder cameras and cheap zooms as 3rd party lenses for Canon EOS and others. These zooms share all the typical features of low cost zooms. As long as you don't produce large prints you can be happy with the results. Large prints or ditgital shots displayed at high pixel resolutions show their limitations. Ulrich
david_kieltyka1
Just to note, Cosina's lenses using the Voigtländer brand are made in Japan. RingFoto has marketed other products as well with the Voigt name...this particular zoom may be among them. -Dave-
