frank_menesdorfer
Hello! Does anyone knows what size the Nikkor-Q 260 mm lens would cover? Thanks Frankie!
dan_fromm2
http://homepage2.nifty.com/akiyanroom/redbook-e/apo/pro260.html says 724 mm at f/10, 800 mm at f/22. But that's at 1:1, so at infinity the lens covers 362 mm wide open and 400 mm at f/22. Here's mine, on a little camera that can't take advantage of that much coverage:<div></div>
john_shriver
Dan, I think your camera is mounted on that lens, not vice versa. Is that a 4x5 camera? It makes it look like a 2x3!
capocheny
Frank, You just missed one of Dagor77's auctions selling off a 260 Nikkor f10. I believe it sold for a touch under US$275.00. IMHO, the winner scored a pretty good deal! . Dan, WOW! That poor front standard!!! :) I once saw a 1000mm lens mounted onto a Sinar (being sold on e**y) but it had a special support built in under the lens. I can't recall the weight of that lens but it couldn't have been much more than your beast! :) What does your lens weigh? Cheers
frank_menesdorfer
You people really going wilde out there! The camera look tuff but was it nesserly? :):) So, the Q takes only 8x10 and that's it! I asume it's around 80 degree or so! right? Or is it more? frank_menesdorfer
By the way give me a tip on lenses which has an a "REAL" image cirkle 800 and more mm whom can be mounted in shutter? Does anythig exists like that? Should have a 70 degree on a 15x19" camera 40x50 cm in Europe that is to my project.
emile_de_leon9
I have a Nikon 260mm f10 and it covers 7x17.This is a fantastic lens, sharp corner to corner on 7x17 even wide open. The only downside is it only closes to f32. c_p_goerz
The lens will throw a circle a bit larger than 17" I found, the one that sold was the last 'boxed-as-new' I had, the others are just used. The F32 max is a pain but there are tech guys out there who can adjust the iris so it'll close down more which may be someething you can look into, either that or replace the iris yourself with one that gives a stop more to your liking(Edmunds Scientific has a bunch). frank_menesdorfer
Yeah guys it would cover it because lower height of the wide camera neg size but still I need something for a size 15x19"! Any suggestions?
dan_fromm2
John, H.C., That's a 2x3 Speed, not a 4x5. As I said, I don't take advantage of the lens' coverage. Don't worry about my camera's poor overloaded front standard. The lens' barrel is aluminum and its elements are thin. It looks much heavier than it really is. Cheers,
vivek iyer
I have a 585mm f/7 UHR lens that would do it. Small problem is that it weighs about > 15Kgs.
