Hasselblad B70-B60 adapter, okay on 50mm?

I just bought a 50mm CFi for the Hasselblad, which takes a B70 filter

mount. As my other 'blad lenses all use the smaller B60 mount, and

I'm looking to cut down on filter costs, has anyone tried using the

50mm with B60 filters via a B70-B60 step-down adapter ring?

Surely the 50mm CFi lens isn't wide enough for vignetting with the

smaller B60 filters?

I'll only be using a polarizing filter, or a 80B, or a 30M, and won't

ever stack them. Should be fine, no?

Andy,

You WILL get vignetting with that step-down combination. The 50mm lens

IS wide enough to be affected. Also, ya gotta use a lens hood with that lens. A B60 hood would really mess you up!

I presume you would use the 30M filter for flourescent light shooting?

That is where a lens hood is really needed.

Hi Andrew,

the step down ring B70-B60 is included in the box if you buy the 50mm CFi new. Hasselblad states in their catalogue that there is no problem using the ring with one filter only. I've been using yelow B60 filter on my 50mm CFi for 2 years now and I've never had a problem with vignetting. The Hasselblad B60 lens hood doesn't fit this lens.

Ondrej & Nadine - thanks!

You've confirmed what I suspected. I didn't get the 60/70 adapter when I bought the lens because I bought it second hand from KEH.

As for the 30M - yes I meant 30-magenta, for shooting under fluorescent.

As for a lenshood, I think I can get away without using one. For now at any rate :?)

Andrew:

The 50 CFi is one sharp lens. OK, I used the adapter - and I find there is a very very slight vignetting - but not noticeably at all when viewing slides or using negatives. However, it does show up when I scan the slides...

Anyway, the BIGGEST problem is that once you attach the adapter, it is impossible to remove! I am not the only one with this problem.
