rich_weiss
I have placed a 50mm Summicron on a Canon 1Ds MKII, however depressing the shutter button half way does NOT lock the exposure. Does anyone have any suggestions other than metering manually? thanx
william_chiu2
Rich, Try pressing the AE Lock button (the one with the star/asterisk) This locks exposure my 1DMII and the Leica 100mm APO-Elmarit. I assume you are using Av mode. Regards, William
jan_brittenson
If you set C.Fn04 to 1 then the shutter button will lock exposure.
rich_weiss
thanx for your quick response - the * button seems to work just fine for me, I tried custom function 4, but it seemed to keep my Canon lenses from autofocusing to my needs.
matt_chamberlain
yeah * is the way to go. i use it with the camera set on spot metering a lot.
