philip_glass
A major photo reseller is now offering Fomapan. Anyone using it in sheet form? I am looking for a replacement for Agfa 100. Is this it?
silent1
I can't tell you about Agfa 100, having never used it, but I've used Fomapan 100 in 9x12 cm and I'm very happy with it -- don't have any need for another 100 speed LF film, IMO (and it's cheaper than Efke). Grain isn't a big issue in large format, of course, but the grain in the Fomapan is visibly finer than the old TXT I have in the same size. The film has good latitude, true speed (for my methods, at least) is close to the box rating, and, did I mention, it's cheap? I've used HC-110 in dilutions H and G, Diafine (EI 160-200) and Caffenol -- I need to work more with the Caffenol, perhaps try it with added vitamin C. BTW, the new Arista.EDU film (replacing the rebranded Forte they were selling) is rebranded Foma, which makes the stuff available in inch sizes. J&C Photo has it with the Foma brand in centimeter sizes -- 9x12, 10x15, and 13x18. Take at look at my portfolio; all the images in the "Large Format 9x12 cm" folder are on Fomapan 100, unless one on TXT crept in there.
