Where to buy this book? Aus den Bergen

I came across a book called Aus den Bergen by photographer J�rgen Winkler in the

library of a hostel in the Canadian Rockies. It had some of the most spectacular

large format mountain photography I had ever seen (taken mostly in the Alps).

Unfortunately I cannnot find it anywhere except on German websites. Anyone have

any suggestions of places where I could purchase this in the US?

Alibris has the lowest price, although other online booksellers have it also. (www.alibris.com). If you have problems finding it, search by ISBN rather than title, it is a more exact search criteria.

Are you sure he shoots large format? 35mm (Leica) as far as I know.

I'm pretty sure. I recall seeing a photo of the photographer in the book with his LF gear.

 

Randy, I checked alibris.com but did not find it there. I tried using the ISBN number like you recommended.

Ah, sorry, I didn't and got two hits on a book with a similar title by a different author (didn't follow my own advice!). I don't know that language so it could be that the phrase is somewhat common - I found a lot of hits for titles containing that phrase before I followed the link you provided and found the ISBN. I would check the main used sellers in the States. Alibris and Abe have automated searches that will email when they find a copy. I've been able to track down books that were not listed on line this way.

their website, our local bookstore has this book available at Euro

35.- (approx. US$ 45). But be aware that actual shipping cost

(Euro 32.-) is about the same as the book itself .

Also check with The Strand, in New York City. They have a giant photo book section, often with some substantial discounts.
