marcos_amatucci
Hello, friends: does anyone know the Tamron F 1.4 TC compatibility with Nikkor lenses? I have a 24-140 AFD and a 70-300 G. It will be ok to use? it will transmit the distance matrix information? will it spoil the lenses? thanks
ro_ro
My Tamron 1.4x TC works with the 70-300G lens. But the image quality is not so good. The TC doesn't work with my 18-70 DX. AF is hunting and doesn't lock.
lex_jenkins
Marcos, several folks have recommended the Kenko 1.4 TC. I plan to try one next time I visit my favorite local shop. The main danger to watch for with any teleconverter is protruding optical elements at the rear of the lens and front of the teleconverter. Check the position of the rear elements throughout the zoom and focus range. Some internal focus lenses shift the position of certain optical elements and groups toward the rear of the lens beyond the lens mount. This is why teleconverters are occasionally matched (Vivitar, Kiron and others have made telezooms with matched teleconverters that weren't intended to be used on other lenses). And most camera brand makers of TCs are very specific about which TCs are suitable for particular lenses. Even if they fit physically one TC may be an excellent performer while another is a stinker.
