dmanthree
I sent my Yashica to Mark Hama about three weeks ago, and haven't heard since. A couple of e-mails, a couple of phone calls, and no reply. Anyone know if Mark is on vacation, out of business, or something else?
stwrtertbsratbs5
I remember reading some time back that Mark isn't great at communicating.
dimitri_kalakanis3
Yeah, your best bet is to keep calling until he picks up. Sometimes posting here seems to help, as friends of his read the posts and let him know.
doug_harhai
FWIW, I am big on communication, and I have my Rollei T with Harry Fleenor right now (it comes back this week), and I have to say that his communication is very prompt. He is a very professional tech. Not that I am trying to sway you away from Mark, whose work I am sure is fine, but I thought that you or others would like the information/comparison for future work. dmanthree
I have read nothing but positive reports on Mark Hama, but I do find it very unusual that he never answers e-mails or returns phone calls. I'd really like to know when I will get my camera back, and the lack of a reply is very frustrating. What else can I do but wait?
davidv1
Drop $20 on a Holga to pass the time. Or build a pinhole camera. No, I'm not kidding. Your Yashica will come back in good shape. Try something different while you're waiting.
dmanthree
OK, I'll pass on the Holga and pinhole camera. Been there, done that, not interested. I just with I could get him to return an e-mail or phone call. In the meantime, the 5D will just have to do. :-)
..........
I just sent my Yashica and payment off to him yesterday. I wanted a new taking lens, there is oil/fungus on the insides of the lens. I asked him several questions via email before sending, like cost, mailing address etc. He responded. He's probably just swamped right now. Make sure he got your camera, did you get delivery confirmation?
