EOS 30/33 (ELAN 7/7e)

If you need a plastic lens mount (cut down on weight?), you'll have to

buy an EOS Rebel 2000 (EOS 300 in Europe? Kiss III in Japan). The EOS

30/33 has a metal lens mount and pressure plate, but what is worse, it

has aluminum top, front and side panels making it cold to the touch.

Silly Canon, they even put metal in the command dial. The all plastic

bodies are great as you can get them through metal detectors at

airports without a beep.

I have a Rebel G with a plastic mount and I change lenses quite often to keep the lens I'll be shooing with most often on my Elan 7, and the plastic mount hasn't been a problem. But then again it doesn't have that nice mechanical feel when I put a metal-mount lens on it...
