Canon Polarizers

Well, the title of your questions suggestions something else i.e.

something about Polarizers from Canon and not concerning

compensation to be done with a polarizer. It would be good if

you give a proper title something like Exposure Compensation for

Polarizer.

There are several concerns about using a polarizer on an

EOS camera like the Elan II / EOS 50.

Metering of the ambient light and focussing is TTL. Since

this uses internal mirrors,a CIRCULAR-polarizer (CPOL) is

suggested instead of the LINEAR polarizer (POL) filter, even

though it may be the same shape and diameter.

If you use an older EZ series Speedlite flash, the A-TTL

sensor for the preflash is on the flash body, and is NOT TTL.

However, the actual flash exposure IS controlled by

TTL. This means that the pre-flash metering and the distance

scale might be misleading. Assuming a filter factor of 2,

the flash coupling range is approximately one half of the

one indicated on the flash.
