johburger
Just mounted a Flash Extender on my 550EX, and WOW! Even though the 550EX has an impressive guide number, fitting the Flash Extender makes it a loooong distance flash. Wildlife and bird photogs won't regret purchasing this accessory. Attached a pic of a tree taken in almost pitch darkness, and it is 150m away!<div></div>
johburger
Just to place things in perspective. Same tree in daylight, zoomed out. Not a great pic, but just to illustrate the distance I managed to get from the 550 EX.<div></div>

marymac
He probably means a Better Beamer flash extender. See here: http://www.naturescapes.net/store/home.php?cat=

Former P.N Member
An alternative is the "Project-a-Flash". I have one that works equally well with my 420ex and 550ex, something the Better Beamer can't do. <p> <a href="http://leppphoto.com/Project-A-Flash/">http://leppphoto.com/Project-A-Flash/</a> <p> and <p> <a href="http://www.rue.com/teleflash.html">http://www.rue.com/teleflash.html</a> <p> The downside is that it does not fold flat like the Better Beamer does but is easier to mount on the flash unit. I've used both and the performance is about equal, although my feeling is the Project-a-Flash is easier to mount and align.
ivanmik
I read about this nice utility. Do you know about some suitable shop/vendor in Europe (or preferably in Czech Republic) - or some internet shop that could deliver cash on delivery? Thanks a lot! ivanmik
Yann, thanks a lot! I tried to order it at Leonard Rue Enterprises - it looks cheaper. Thanks also for your kind comment to my photo Lynx - it is not from Czech Republic and he is not free (he is from Biodome, Montreal). I also love your images, mainly cranes and backs gulls (beautiful Eagles are form Homer, isn't it?).
yann_muzika
Ivan, thanks for your comments. Eagles are from North Hokkaido in Japan, many Stellar and white-tailed sea eagles gather in winter there. best
