Adobe Photoshop CS2

Hi Everbody,

 

I am new to digital photography and am considering purchasing Adobe Photoshop

CS2 (full boxed program, not a download or upgrade) for my post production

work.

 

Can anyone tell me a good internet retailer from which to purchase? I have

never purchased anything over the internet before so I am a little

apprehensive, primarily because of the wide range of pricing ($320-$650). I

definitely want to purchase from a reputable online dealer so as not to get

ripped off.

the cheapest way to get a legitimate copy is to buy an orginal copy of older software that can be upgraded

 

if you buy an earlier version of photoshop, then you can buy a boxed upgrade to cs2 direct from adobe, if you are in the usa that costs $169, upgrading from photoshop le, photoshop elements, or photodeluxe, is $499

 

amazon usually sells upgrades a bit cheaper

 

amazon sells older versions, so this would give you a one stop shop to buy both parts you need

 

if you are uncertain whether a product is eligible for upgrade, call adobe sales and check before you buy

 

another source of original older versions is ebay etc., but there is a risk that pirated copies may be on sale, or that someone is selling a copy that they've upgraded from (so 'using up' the licence code)

No "legitimate" dealer, internet or otherwise, is going to sell CS2 for much less than $600. If price is an issue than the upgrade approach outlined by the previous poster is your best option. Amazon is as goood a place as any to buy from online whatever approach you take.
