marissa_c._boucher
Hi everyone, I can't figure out how to quickly upload a web gallery created in photoshop to my website. I basically want to add a page on my website (using frontpage) that will have links to each clients individual PSCS web gallery of proofs. My problem lies in when I go to upload the web galleries themselves. I want an FTP program that will let me drag and drop with ease so I don't have to create identical folders for every web gallery. This takes forever! There must be an FTP program that allows you to drag and drop folders along with included files without having to identically create the same paths on your own right? I just don't have time to figure this all out and I could really use some help as to the best way to do this. I just want a page on my site where I can have clients view proof galleries that were made in PSCS and I also want it to be easier on my end to upload them. PSCS creates up to 3 or more folders for each web gallery so it's pretty tedious to manually FTP it all if you have to create all the matching folders. Arrrgghh! Am I missing something here? rob_m.___portland__or.
You didn't mention your platform but if you use a mac then www.cyberduck.ch offers a great free FTP program with drag and drop capabilities. Dreamweaver has a great FTP interface if you ever feel like upgrading to that program. Cheers, Rob
m_p7
I put the web gallery (and it's associated folders) into a folder. Then I use SmartFTP to upload it to my server, rename the folder to something that makes sense, update the index page, and you're done.
alice_guy
There's plenty of FTP programs out there. I've been using Secure FX for years now as I need the SFTP it offers to upload to one server I use.

Very simple, drag and drop whole folders. perfect_exposure
you can do it from internet explorer. your ISP will have allocated an ftp address with your webspace which is usually something like:

ftp.mydomain.com

if you then type into the internet explorer address bar the following then you will be able to upload files to your webspace.

ftp://ftp.mydomain.com

you will be asked for your webspace userid and password and obviously you have to replace "ftp.mydomain.com" with your allocated ftp name.

once connected then just click on the IE folders icon at top of screen and you a get standard windows explorer drag and drop functionality allowing updates to your web space. It doesn't come any simpler and doesn't require installing or learning anything except what I have explained above.

I assume you are using a PC and not a mac.
