emwalker
My 20D is naughty. Stubborn. Giving me attitude which I can't abide. Magnesium alloy, I oughta slap it like a redheaded stepchild. Flash wont deploy unless I manipulate it manually. Locks up occasionally, usually at a pivotal moment in my shooting. And despite my threats and admonishment, it just refuses to give me acceptable cleanliness at high ISOs. The noise is not so bad, but the noise pattern is just sassy. I think it's a rebel disguised as a 20D. It's grounded. I'm sending it to the Canon boot camp for some behaviour modification. So, my question- I'm under warranty and no where near a certified Canon center. I'm going to have to surgically detatch it from my hand, pop its little lens off, stuff it in a dark and cramped box, and misty-eyed, send it away for... how long? Anyone have any experience with Canon's warranty service? I'm gonna miss the little fella, frustrating as it is. And I'm gonna have to buy film. How long will it take? Will I ever se my poor 20D again? Signed, A concerned parent
pete w
E. From reading forums over the years it seems to range from one week to several and I believe it depends on where you send it and how busy they are at that time. One word of advise is to write a kind, positive letter which explains you need it back asap and it would be very appreciated. This always goes along way. bill_fouche
About 10 months ago, I sent my XT to the Californi service center from my home in Dallas. It (and a lens) was back in a tad over two weeks with the front-focusing problem fixed.

john_stark
9 weeks to get my 1D back in October. And they sent it back with a fingerprints on the mirrior and dirt on the IR Filter. I called and complained about the shape it was in when I got it back and they said "send it back we'll clean it". Instead it went to the dealer who cleaned it and billed Canon.... total time without camera 11 weeks! JS
