pico_digoliardi
Just got word that I'm outta the day job for at least a month, probably more than two. I will be hitting the road next week providing I can get one of my cars running. I'll drive up to the freeway and flip a coin, East or West. If it falls under the seat, I'll go a bit North to Canada.<p> If you see an old bright red or coral colored VW bug with MinneSnowta plates and a roofrack and big wood tripod on top, <i>and the driver is a good looking young person</i>, well <b>it means my bug's been stolen! Call 911!</b> :) <p> OTOH, if the driver is a grey-bearded olde pharte, he's me and he's near deaf. Wave! <p> If you get me to stop, I'll have a case of cold film in the back to share. sknowles
Pico, if you get to western Washington, we'll look for you. I hope you can and visit Mt. Rainier NP, lots to see and photograph. I'll keep you in mind if I see the VW (I own a '91 Syncro). I always stop to talk with LF photographer (I'm just starting). Take care and drive safely. gandicarter
Go north and not just a bit. If you want to see real wilderness and a huge beautiful part of the earth, get north of 60. Yukon & Alaska have good roads! Gerald ( http://www.suresoft.ca/homepage/gcarter.html )

If we see this vehicle (and it's a deaf, grey-bearded old fart driving) we'll just toss rocks, ok? :) :) In any case... have a safe and fun trip! :) Cheers
darcy_cote
Scott, how do you like your 91 synchro? I considered buying one because of the 4WD and westfalia camper. How do you find it?
tom_keenan
Wow!-You can afford both gas AND film. Both things in short supply these days. Have a great trip and bring you laptop to stay in touch. Tom
sknowles
Darcy, you can contact me at scott@wsrphoto.com for more information. The syncro is somewhat popular around the Puget Sound with plenty of good service places. To keep it short, I've owned it since it was new and have mixed feelings about it, mostly costs, but love it. Contact me and I'll elaborate. Scott.
pico_digoliardi
:( Already I am delayed. My Mother-in-law is quite old and fell this morning. Such events are often the beginning of the long slide downhill. I'm hanging around until we know she is okay. And the Day Job called me to "write just a little more code before you go..." and ... well, I am an unhappy puppy. Peace,
pico_digoliardi
<b>Tom Keenan</b> <i> Wow!-You can afford both gas AND film. Both things in short supply these days.</i><p> Not really. I've been saving film like a miser, and the car ain't exactly road-worthy. I'm down to a '58 VW Bug. <p> But I will share what I have: a cooler of film. BUT I really have to get this thing running. <p> This was my last day at work for a long time. I'm a bit <i>under the weather</i><p> :(
