Check out what a un named 35mm camera from a fleamarket made in Japan can do.

I think this may be a Richo 35 zone focus camera it was in a junk bin

the front element was cleanded with sandpaper and gasoline but with

some Agfa Vista it still made this image nothing done to correct the

image....a direct copy except to shrink it to fit the 511 limit from

the CD I got with A simi good cheap drug store. Print looks just the

same as this does. I wonder what a good lens on this beauty would

look like.<div>00CJiY-23730884.JPG.62b400fdd17e1921f52d12da7d9eae9d.JPG</div>

Just goes to prove that a camera is simply a light tight box with a hole in the front.....

Now I thought I remembered hearing that one should spend money on glass not the body....not sure that statement can be proven with this nice photo, and the lens 'cleaned with sandpaper' ;)

Hi Larry,

I have a Ricoh 35 that I picked up on the 'bay for $35. Mine is not a zone focus, but a

rangefinder. It has a clean lens, and takes wonderful pictures. One of the surprising

things to me is how well it handles color. I have several old rangefinders, most much

more recognized and expensive than the Ricoh, but I consider it to be one of my gems.

Great shooting!

Reed
