cenelsonfoto
This wonderful little 645 folder continues to impress me. Guestimate focus, exposure, you name it... consistency? You betcha.<p> Kodak Portra 160NC and lots of shade. lesged
Let me be the first to say those are great shots,Craig. It hardly matter which camera you pick up these days. They are splendid ! You're on roll. You're faded! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
david_f._stein
Beautiful pix. Another great example of how vintage cameras match up so well with modern films.

daniel_iggers
Why would you ever want to shoot with another camera? :> Really nice! As my then-18 year old son would have said last year, "Sweet!"
cenelsonfoto
Dan, I don't the answer to "why", to be honest. The Zenobia is super-quiet, well-made, with a nice lens/shutter combo. A meter is needed for difficult lighting, but I have also done fine with it without the meter, in difficult lighting, as evidenced above. Admittedly, I could have had a few more good shots had I guestimated, ahem, a bit more accurately. As info - Item number: 7516424486, will terminate in 12hrs. Bidding is already above what I bid for mine, but only by a few centimes. All the recent Zenobia-for-sales I've come across have been in pitiful condition. This one looks quite nice. cenelsonfoto
BTW, this is the same little camera that arrived with fungus in the lens. No affect as far as I can tell.
david_bedell
You obviously get along really well with this camera, CE. That looks like a nice farmer's market.
mskovacs
The Portra is looking good too. Does anyone know if they made these in 6x6 format? I'm just not a big fan of 6x4.5. If I have to turn the camera for vertical/horizontal compositions, I'm too lazy unless there is 6x9 of film real estate :)
cenelsonfoto
Mike, I have looked and not found much info on the Zenobia. I thought, perhaps mistakenly, that they made an RF version, but no sign of one. As for the Portra - just when I think I'm gonna finish off the last couple of rolls I have sitting around and be done with that flavor, comes along shots like the first two and I have to reconsider. Portra worked well here.

tito sobrinho
Beautiful pictures CE. ...and the Zenobia on ebay has the Neo-Hesper lens (Tessar clone) versus the most common Zenobias with a Hesper lens, a triplet.
cenelsonfoto
That auction went off at over $40... still not a bad price if you ask me. And mine has the Neo-Hesper, seems to be a good lens.
cenelsonfoto
Here's another one, but it looks like crap and the guy has $69 to BIN on it: Item number: 3861974825 . Good luck to him, I say.

miztli
Craig, Congratuilations, those are great pictures, I really liked them. It encourages me to finish of repairing my Zenobia with Neo-Hesper lens. When I received the camera, it had several cosmetic issues, lens-shutter assy loose and a needed a general cleaning. In the first test roll the pictures were all perfectly esposed except by one detail, terribly out of focus. I have several other cameras with scale focusing and this is the first one that the focus is disadjusted so it will be my first time I will adjust the focusing in a folder.
