peter_bongard
Hi!I have a Polaroid 635 CL Camera with 600 Film and I want to achieve the effect from the picture in the link. Any Idea how to do this?RegardsPeter Here's the link: http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:WIMs5guIWugJ:www.polaroid.com/prophoto/sorter.jsp%3FFOLDER%253C%253Efolder_id%3D2534374302023767+polaroid+sx-70+clay&hl=de&gl=de&ct=clnk&cd=
todd peach seattle, washi
SX-70 manipulation is basically all about physically pushing around the emulsion while it's still 'developing'. The cap from a ballpoint pen is the first tool most folks reach for, and as you gain experience you branch out to other tools for other effects. I have no idea if 600 film manipulates in the same way the original SX-70 film did.

todd peach seattle, washi
http://www.goinggallery.com/alteration-process.html As I understand it, the original 'plain jane' SX-70 film was the king of this process, as it took several days to completely set up and harden. The slightly newer 'time zero' SX-70 stock is all that is still readily available. It is only 'manipulatable' for a few minutes after exposure. Your 600 film may work too; I just don't know. I'm drawing on 20 year old memories here, and never had more than a passing interest in the technique (did a few myself, more as 'cartoons' than anything painterly). wickedmartini
Peter, the 600 series films do not manipulate like SX-70 and SX-70 has recently been discontinued by Polaroid. I know there are several of us here that will miss it. Right now, it's kind of tough to find any film. I have a folder here on PhotoNet with some of my manipulations in it if you are interested. http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=259504
heller_harris
I know that it's not the same thing, but you can do emulsion and image transfers with the camera and film that you already own. You can come up with your own look by manipulating the material to which you apply the image. You can see examples on Polaroid site or <a href="http://www.kathleencarr.com/artwork/polaroid_transfers/Rainforest_Nude-5.html" target="_new"> here.</a>
