etan_lightstone
My creative Zen mp3 player can be configured as a portable storagedevice (like a usb hard-disk). Can I simply plug this right into the usb interface of my Canon 300D ?Will the Canon be able to initiate a file transfer? Or are bothdevices "dumb" and do nothing? beauh44
Hi Etan, If the Zen player doesn't have a CF slot (I think some of the new ones do) then I don't think simply plugging your camera into its USB port is going to work, unfortunately. basscheffers
They are both dumb, I am affraid. Besides, 5GB isn't a whole lot - especially if there is any music on there - and you can get 4GB cards for about $100 now!
pieris_berreitter
You can do it with a third-party device such as the Delkin USB Bridge ($US40). But reports on this device say that it's slow and battery-intensive. Better to buy a 4GB CF card or one of the many dedicated digicam backup devices. rodgerd
You're after a device with USB Host mode; none of the older Zen players have this; some MP3 players, like the Cowon iAudio X5 do.
