fcalvo Posted May 18, 2005 Share Posted May 18, 2005 If one of these new lenses that are coming out specific to dSLRs is a 18-55mm, does it really mean, is I have an Digital Rebel XT (1.6x crop factor) that it ends up being a 28.8 - 88mm ??? frank uhlig Posted May 18, 2005 Share Posted May 18, 2005 Yes, you got that right. A 18mm lens times 1.6 gives you a 28 something focal length equivalent of a 35mm film camera. So an 18mm is not so wide! That is why they now have 12 - 24mm DX lenses; equivalne to 18 + to 36+ mm lenses in 35mm film. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
