N2020 Hot Shoe repair?

My N2020 hot shoe doesnt work. Any ideas what to look for and how to fix? How

do you get to it to repair? Im using an SB-20 that works fine on another N2020

body. Thanks

That would probably require a top cover removal, which would mean most shops would want to do a CLA on the camera. It probably needs one anyway, and if the camera is important to you you should probably consider doing one if you haven't in the past few years. Plan on spending around $120 or so. The problem could be simple or not.

KEH sells Ex+ N2020's for $105. Heck, for $200 you can get a very fine N90s, etc.

Have you tried to clean the contact on the hot shoe? Does the flash sit tight on the shoe? Try moving the flash slightly on the shoe(front to back and side to side) to see if you get contact in another position. Have you tried another flash on this shoe? Might be worth a try. Removing the top is not that hard, get some good screwdrivers. If it is as simple as a bad solder connection under the hot shoe, this is an easy fix. Beyond that, may be too much to try and fix
