Aoresteen
I just recieved a Zeiss Contapol 342 to use with my Contaflex Super. It doesn't seem to fit. The Contapol has FEMALE threads and my Contaflex Super needs 27mm MALE threads or 28.5mm slipon. What is the correct product number for the Contapol that fits my Contaflex Super? Thanks! mike_elek
Anthony, does your Contapol look like this? Maybe Zeiss Ikon made two different versions ...<div></div>
Troll
Apparently Zeiss changed from male to female threads sometime very early in Contaflex I production. Last year on eBay I cleverly bought a set of four brand new Zeiss B&W filters still in their original boxes, and discovered that the #$$#$% female filters don't work on a late Contaflex. (Live and learn, but it's darn expensive!) My Contapol has the correct male threads, but unfortunately is delaminating.

Aoresteen
Ho! Ho! HO!!!!! Mystery solved! Looking very carfully at my 342 Contapol I noticed that there was an ADAPTER ring attached to the back of the Contapol! The ring was very snug but it soon came loose! It is just a 27mm FEMALE ring that is taller than the Contapol threads allowing it to couple to a 27mm male thread. The ring is very well made. As it matches the Contapol perfectly it must be a Zeiss item though it is not marked. I have never seen or heard of such a ring. Must be very rare and worth $5,000 ! ;-) Thanks for the clues!<div></div>
