brambor
I have a proposition to exhibit some of my photographs overseas. I have manycapable people to negotiate in my presence and I do not plan to travel there. At present it seems that I would be responsible for sending the prints andorganizations would do the framing for the show. I'm perfectly happy if I could be part of this, but I wonder whether there is astandard protocol or an 'unwritten rule' in how this is done? pablito pistola
It is different in every case. In my experiences, it comes down to trust, and to how much of a perfectionist you are and how much you are willing to compromise. There is no set protocol. Things could go great and you could get a package with reviews, catalogs, press clippings and photos of the installation. Or you could bet back nothing, not even your prints. My simple advice would be to trust your instincts. Good luck!
michael s.
Can't help you with your question, but it's very good to hear this, Rene.
Are the photos the ones you took in the Czech Republic? This site is ready to launch and just needs some strong photos ... like yours.
working camera
Seems to me that soooo much work and effort goes into preparing stuff for exhibit the only reason to do so is go the opening party and drink copious quantities of wine. Seriously Rene, if it is just a few prints, then go for it, you might get some sales. Why do we make our photographs if they are not to be seen. As the above posts say there are no standards or protocols here, just go with your instincts. Youll just have to have a party (celebratory BBQ?) back in Maine. C. and best of luck
brambor
Yes. It is for the czech photos. I don't want to get ahead of myself. Just bouncing off a few things. If and when it becomes a reality I will supply more information. They have initially requested A1 format but I can reliably print 13x19. I hope it is going to work out. brambor
I have recently sold 20 prints to the same city for an unrelated project and the printing and shipping of the 13x19 inches shipped without a hitch.

brambor
hi Roland. :-) She said your groups' grand finale was full but suggested a separate venue. Have you printed your stuff in A1 for her and how did the framing go?
roland_schmid
Rene, I printed the black and white photographs on 40 x 50cm bary paper and send the color ones on a CD. Some times I did my own framing, sometimes they did the job. Cheers, Roland
terry_rory
Is this the work you feature in your... 'Black heart of the republic' Rene?
brambor
Yes Trevor. It's exciting to have a chance to exhibit in my home town. I've been away from there since I was 17. This links me back to my 'roots'. Cheers.
