2 cameras working, same frame numbers.

I shot a sports event recently and we had three cameras going, a 10D

and 2, 20D's. As it turned out, we ended up shooting similar numbers.

IMG 4222 etc. Does anyone know how to overcome this. Can I rename a

cameras prefix to ABC etc?

Canon's File Viewer Utility should be able to rename or add prefixes to your images when you download them onto your computer. I know it works with RAW, probably works with JPEG too.

If you use Downloader Pro from <a href="http://www.breezesys.com">www.breezesys.com</a> then you can map the serial number of the camera to a code and use that token as part of the file name or folder path. For a while I used a 10D, 20D and SD100, and DLPro automatically downloaded to a different path depending on the camera. I could have just as easily used a different file name. You can do the same with the two 20D's, either go a different path or a different file name (or both).

To really fix it, once the cameras and cards get confused you have to take

both batteries out of the camera, and then reinstall. The camera battery and

the date/clock battery. J.

So far i just download each camera to a different folder labelled accordingly , simple and works for me

Yeah, I actually just use different folders like Chris. I don't change the file names until after I edit them.

I have the same problem. I do not like using the filewier saftware though. When I used 1 camera it was easy to see which pics were in order, but now with 2 it isn't. Such is life!
