how to resize images for showing on web

Recommended Posts

of course.... and no matter what technique you use someone will easily steal your great ideas... the low resolution makes prints nearly impossible to print but the only real solution is to place a large (and ugly) watermark on top of the image.

Anyone who wants to steal will easily take them even with a "right click disabled page" or any of these gimmicks.

Go to Image/Image Size. Check the boxes marked "Resample" and "Proportional". In place of the larger dimension in the Pixel boxes, type in 800 (for web) or 500 (for Photo.Net). The nominal resolution will stay the same. If you uncheck the box marked "Resample" and type in 72 dpi, the "inch" dimensions will appear more normal. This dimension makes no difference in the way the file will be displayed in a browser or in Photo.Net, only the number of pixels counts.

You will also need to convert to JPEG, and strip any EXIF information. Use ImageReady for this task.
