zachary
I picked up some Energizer Rechargeable AA batteries today and I was wondering if I can/should charge them in the chargers I already have. Also, are these batteries any good? Thanks, ZAch<div></div>

michaelging
I would think that the chargers would work on these batteries. Rechargeable batteries have a slightly lower voltage than regular batteries, which when you used them in motordrives made them run slower. I also seem to remember that they have a steeper toe curve that dropped the voltage faster. You can try them and see what you think.
chuck_c_charlottenc_
Zach, The Energizer 2500 mAh batteries are excellent. They were rated #2 out of nearly 40 brands not too long ago. Sam's sells them for the "right" price. The existing chargers that you have should work fine as long as they are for NiMH batteries or the charger has a switch to chose to charge NiMH. //Chuck
david_arran
Looks like they'll both work. Both are marked for use with NiMH batteries and look like they'll take the AA size cells you've bought. In addition, the Rayovac charger on the right looks like a dual purpose AA/AAA charger, so if you have any AAA cells you need charging, you'll be able to do those too. zachary
Thanks for the responses. I know they are both NiMH chargers, I was really curious to know if they would charge them properly (to their full capacity or not)? ZAch
chuck_c_charlottenc_
Zach, From my experience, by measuring the actual voltage of the batteries after the quick charge chargers are done, I've experimented with then putting those "charged" batteries into a trickle charger and allow that charger to "finish" with them. When I then checked the batteries, the voltages on the batteries had increased another .2 to .4 volts. But, after doing this "two step" charging sequence, I've come to the conclusion the extra hour+ or more didn't seem worth it since I couldn't really see any substantial additional battery life time in the camnera. //Chuck
