jessym
I am at a loss as to where to go. My husband and I got married last year. We looked at a few photographers and found one that was suggested to us. Checked him out, checked out his work, and overall he seemed like the one for us. He promised product 6-8 weeks after the wedding day. WE did not receive ANYTHING until four months after the wedding, after we had called the police to help track him down. (His cellphone had been d/c'ed) Then were dumb enough to fork over the negatives we bought back to him in order for him to finish out the contract with enlargements to which he was due to us. He swore up and down he would have it back to us in two weeks, without a problem. We haven't heard from him since October. I have already called every number I can humanly track him on, as well as contacting the better business bureau. We are out of ideas on how to hunt him down. He is in violation of the contract we had agreed to, as I still do not have the negatives we purchased, or any of the enlargements. I have everything written down, but do not know who to turn to! Help! Jessy Morelljmorell23@msn.com
austinphoto
Sorry to hear about your problems. It sounds like you are being screwed by an unscrupulous photographer. There are some out there. He took your money and ran! Contact your local DA immediately. File a complaint and hope they can do something about it. It would also be good if you post who he is so maybe someone out here can tell you where he is. Good luck!
jessym
We're in Colorado Springs, and he was doing business as Amber Photography. His name is (William) Page Thompson. Will try to contact a DA then. I feel like we've run out of options, and I do appreciate your response.
conraderb
Jessy - this sounds very bad. Did you get references from this guy? Did his previous clients mention any problems? Unfortunately, you are not working with a professional photographer - you are working with a scam artist! Contact an attorney and go to their office with your contract in hand. Attorneys have the capabilities to find someone via a service like Accurint that you can only dream of!
dj_soroka
Jessy - I would not contact an attorney, per se, since they charge high hourly rates and you should be able to get free legal services from your local district attorney as prosecutor. In New York, there are various consumer fraud protections that allow us to file a complaint with the local district attorney or state attorney general prosecuting the case, depending on the situation. david_eicher
Sorry to hear about this. Hopefully you did not give all funds up front. This is the reason I tell clients never to do this.
savagesax
Can you call the ALL of the professional labs and photo studios in Colorado Springs? He is still around somewhere and maybe a pro lab actually has the negs. Also call the video pros in the area, he may be side lining as a second photographer for someone. If you find the right lab I'm sure they'd be happy to work with you by giving you his number. If the lab has the negs you can also go to small claims court and get them that way. Good luck.
