Hi,
I found a lens marked "Stein Optik MC" (135mm f/2.8).
The lens mount seems to be that of a Canon FD:

Does anybody know about this company?
About the quality of their lenses?
About the age of the lenses?

Thanks a lot!
Carlo

Hell, nobody's answering so I'll pontificate.

(i) I know zero about this lens, but (TMTOMH) I Googled it and there are a few references on European ebay. So aftermarket lens, sold in Europe to a small market, made by a company with a different name. Probably, uh, rather inexpensive.

(ii) Burn a roll of film and tell us about the quality. I bet it shoots great soft portraits wide open, and it's probably pretty sharp at f/8 or f/11 on a tripod. Tell me if I'm wrong.

(iii) I'd guess 80s or early 90s, but who knows or cares? Use it and tell us how it performs.

I was curious too. I looked all over the internet and nothing. I think it's a German made lens. Give it a go and see what happens. Wait I found this company.

WWW.STEINER.DE makes binoculars. Maybe years ago they made camera lenses as well.
