soumya_simanta
I am looking to buy some accessories for my D50 and SB-800. Arnab mentioned LumiQuest Ultrasoft Pocket Bouncer in a couple of his posts. So I am planning to get that to avoid some harsh lighting and hotspots while using the SB-800 for macros and portraits. Can someone suggest a good bracket that I should buy? I think I will also need a cord to connect the flash to the camera. Is it possible to fire the SB-800 remotely by using a D50? Any thing else that I should considering buying for my setup? Thanks. joseph_smith3
The cord to get is the SC-28 iTTL sync ext cord. Here is a link to a picture of one possible flash bracket: http://www.nikoncafe.com/vforums/showthread.php?t=51383&highlight=sc-28+cord Joe smith

frank_skomial
Get SC-29 cord that has built-in infrared illuminator. Get Stroboframe Press T compact Bracket, it is lighter than others. You will also need Anti-twist bracket for D50 camera, and Anti-twist bracket for the SC-29 cord. All are custom made for SC-29 and for D50 camera. Remember, D50 camera is a consumer grade plastic body, and using the lightest flash frame would be recommended. Anti twist brackets are so you can shoot comfortably, without the need to re-adjust camera or flash or the cord, that without the anti-wtist would most likely change postitions during vigorous shooting weddings, sporting events etc. If you puchased a stronger Nikon body, like D200 or F6, D2X, then you would have more freedom to use bigger and heavier brackets. arnabdas
Soumya, one of the best brackets for macro I have used is the Wimberly F2 Macro module. I also use a Stroboframe Stroboflip VH2000 which is very good, compact and handy. Between the two of these my flash needs are met 100% (which is about 1% of my shooting).

Kirk also makes macro brackets that look very similar to John Shaw's setup described in CiN. RRS makes the B series brackets which should be great but perhaps a bit on the heavy side (in typical RRS style).
