samir
My M6 needs a CLA. The easiest option would be to repair it locally (Strauss). The post on photo net are 8-year old. Has any of views use Strauss to service a Leica? Otherwise, besides Leica New Jersey, what are your good/bad experiences lately? Thanks
george_b1
They didn't know what to do with my M4 several years ago. Finally sent it to Golden Touch (Krauter). For a first-class CLA, I've used both Krauter and DAG. George (The Old Fud)
jonathan_walker
They really do a lot of cameras VCRs, point and shoots, hair dryers 9probably) etc. -- my hat's off to them but I'm not sure I see them as specialists.
david_myers2
You might try ProPhoto in DC. They did fine getting the range finder aligned and a CLA for an M4-2. David
jonathan_walker
Pro Photo is good in that they (Cebu is the repairman's name) do a lot of work right there. But they are a little shifty on prices. I sent two of my F-4s to KEH in Atlanta for what they wanted to fix one. In general I have had great luck with KEH -- their Web site will even spit out an automated estimate.
furcafe
Unless Strauss has improved considerably in the past few years, I would send your M6 to DAG, Krauter, or Leica NJ. It's not like it's that difficult or costly (in terms of money or time) to send it out.
samir
Thanks. To DAG it goes!
