anne_o1
Hi! I'm considering purchasing the Sony Cyber-shotï¾® DSC-N1. I need to take pix that will fill a tabloid-size cover. I get such pix with a setting on my current camera, the Fuji S5000. Here's what I get with my Fuji at the highest jpg setting: Pixel dimension is: width: 2048 x height: 1536; file size = 866.9 KB; width = 28.444 inches; height = 21.333 inches; resolution is 72 pixels per inch. Does the Sony Cyber-shotï¾® DSC-N1 have a setting that matches the above? Or exceeds it? I've read all the features and specs and some reviews, but I can't find this info. If you're using it and can reply, I'd be grateful. Thanks,Anne
david_arran
The maximum resolution of the DSC-N1 is 3264 x 2448 pixels, which is higher than your S5000. At a print resolution of 300 dpi, that'll give you decent 10"x8" prints, or if you go down to 150 dpi, 20"x16"<p> It's probably not advisable to print at 72 dpi, unless you're looking at the prints from across the room. ;-)<p> The resolution information came from dpreview.com. It's a very useful source of information<p>
jespdj
Note that the camera does not have a resolution of 72 dpi. Cameras do not have a resolution that you can measure in dots per inch. Only the image size in pixels is important. The number of dots per inch depends on how big you print the image.
andrew robertson
At 72 DPI that image would make a 45x32 inch print, which would not be viewed at arms length. It would probably look very nice.
