joshua_litle
Has anyone experimented with adapting Bronica lenses from one system to another? e.g. Using a GS-1 lens on an SQ-ai or an SQ-ai lens on an ETRSi etc.?
andre_noble4
Good question. Why wasn't there ever an adaptor made? In a way, tey did make anadapter, it's at the back end called a multi-format interchangeable film back. I love shooting 6x4.5 on my SQ-Ai with a 645 SQ back. dave_schneider
Joshua, I haven't done any experimenting because it seemed quite futile. The diameter of the mounting rings is different on the 3 series. The in lens shutter requires both electronic and mechanical linkage for complete operability. Coming up with the adapter to do this and maintain infinity focus is way beyond practical. The lenses are selling cheap since the discontinuation of the line. skygzr
If it were possible at all, you'd need a custom-built adapter. Cheaper to buy new lenses. Pentax 67 lenses will mount on 645 cameras with a Pentax adapter.
