chris_johnston1
I am looking at two lenses for this camera, a Viv series 1 70-210 VMC 1:2.8-4 (62mm) and an VMC(I think it has the V) 1:3.5 (67mm). Can anyone tell me about the differences and pros and cons of each. Thanks,
gregory_nicholson
Pros are low cost and better image quality than Canon's cheaper zooms in that focal length range. Cons are the added speed does not offset the added weight and oddball filters that won't match any of your other FD lenses. If you don't have any other FD lenses I suggest you buy the third party zoom in Pentax, Yashica or Minolta mount. Then buy a camera for the lens, third party lenses for these mounts are almost give-a-ways on ebay.
jjs4
Chris: Take a look at this site: http://medfmt.8k.com/third/cult.html (Skip down to the Vivitar Series One Section) Jamie S.
tommyinca
If you get the f2.8-4 (62mm filter) 70-210mm, try to get version 3 make by Komine. Serial number start with 28. There is also a version make by Cosina, serial number start with 9. That one does not have good review. I have the Komine version. I have some good result with it. The lens is heavy consider that it is a f4 (at 210mm).
