thomson_chan
Dear all, Just wondering if anyone had tried this lens, and what's the feedback. Is it a sharp lens? Does it do good on macro? I am using a F80 body. Cheers, Thomson
lex_jenkins
There have been many, many recent threads discussing the pros and cons of various 70-300mm AF lenses.

roman_kuznetsov
Mediocre lens as a general telephoto. Not sharp at long range (200-300), acceptable at shorter. Not sure about its macro.
charles_miller
About ten years ago, I used the predecessor model, the Sigma 75-300mm f/4-5.6 APO lens for over a year. It was an excellent performer between 75mm and 200mm with very good sharpness, very good color, and very good contrast. Mechanically the lens was not inspiring, and the autofocus was slow and noisy. john schroeder
I was given a Sigma 70-300 APO Macro lens several years ago. I was digusted by the poor image quality and constant focus seeking. I became so frustrated with it I through it off a cliff! The friend who gave it to me hated it also. If you want it I'm sure it's still there. Some where between hwy 20 and Diablo Dam Lake at the overlook. Buy the Nikkor or, if you want macro, the Tamron.<div></div>
