shelley_wells
I accidentally formatted my SD card in a Canon A610 prior to downloading them to my computer. I then used PC inspector smart recovery and it did recovery all the pictures but a fair number of them are corrupted. It leaves only half or 3/4 of the picture and the rest is gray. I am able to see the entire image on my thumbnail. Is there some way of getting the rest of the info back or are these photos lost forever? rainer_t
Shelly, The thumbnail is a part of the complete jpg that the camera generates. The thumbnail is stored pretty much at the beginning, so its no wonder that it is intakt. Corrupted jpgs after a format and recovery are very common if you do delete images in camera while shooting. If you do this, the images are no longer written in one piece into the card, the get scattered a bit. I don't think you'll be able to recover more than you have, but eventually give other recovery programes a chance. For future, don't format before you copied to pc, and don't delete images in camera if you don't need the space on the card. Rainer
yongbo
You can try Zero Assumption Recovery 8.0. Here is the instruction.
