vuyisich
I think I can take sharp pictures, but I am not happy with their sharpness after downsizing for web display (going from 8MP down to 800x600). I use PS7, downsize, then use unsharp mask. I just can't seem to get photos as sharp as some other people can, like this one: http://www.photo.net/photo/3219625 I would appreciate it if people would describe their downsizing/sharpening techniques, so we can all learn. Thanks.

benji
I am not sure about sharpness but I think my photos look better on the web after converting ot profile sRGB. Ben
joe_photo
I use Photoshop Elements and a Sony 828 usually at the 5 MP setting. Once the images are downloaded I keep the original and save a copy. With the copy I resize to the dimension I want and when saving click a lower quality setting. For web use the number is a 3 or 4. They still look OK to me. I don't sharpen, unsharpen or do much else except maybe auto adjust contrast.
michael_darnton1
Oversharpen just a bit before you downsize--the oversharpening effect will be lost in the downsizing, but the smaller image will look better. Then resharpen a bit, not too much, after the resizing, too.
