K battery for a Kodak Trimlite Pocket Instamatic

Does anyone know whether or not these batteries are available anywhere? I

realize this is a long shot and that this camera will probably be a display

item, but I thought I'd see if anyone had any helpful insights. Thanks in

You mean the K323? If so, yes they are available. I've seen them on eBay. Also Google them. They are a bit pricey but they last for years. My Kodak VR35-K12 uses the same battery.

K batteries are no longer in production, but they can still be found in various places. There is also a K battery variant that uses alkaline cells. It is a mustard yellow color rather than red, and it seems to have been produced longer than the red ones (silver cells) You can occasionally find these in electronic parts stores. It works in my Trimlite 48 and Pocket Instamatic 60 just fine.

 

The K battery itself is just a plastic holder with three S76 silver cells inside. You can take one apart and replace the cells.

There was a fellow in Australia selling the K's on eBay...If he's still got them, they've worked well for me. And following onto Paul's suggestion, you can find instructions for refilling the battery housings with fresh cells, if you want to try!
