monkey Posted April 25, 2005 Share Posted April 25, 2005 It didn't occur to me that pigs bite. I'd got in amongst them and oneof the little porkers nipped me on my inner thigh - I now have a hugebruise and a lot more respect for these fantasticbeasts!

<imgsrc="http://d6d2h4gfvy8t8.cloudfront.net/3307533-lg.jpg">
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

olivier_reichenbach Posted April 25, 2005 Share Posted April 25, 2005 Reminds me, only three mammals are omnivorous: rats, pigs and... man. Birds of a feather... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

olivier_reichenbach Posted April 25, 2005 Share Posted April 25, 2005 You are right, guys, of course. I just wanted to make a point. You can also apparently add squirrels and beavers. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bj_bignell Posted April 25, 2005 Share Posted April 25, 2005 Monkey, Not only do they bite, but the sows will sometimes clamp down on you and not let go. They have incredibly strong jaws, and it's a good way to get a broken wrist or hand. You're lucky you only got a bruise! BJ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
andy m. Posted April 25, 2005 Share Posted April 25, 2005 And Hedgehogs.... Pigs have a lot of teeth- you probably had a lucky escape. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
terry_rory Posted April 25, 2005 Share Posted April 25, 2005 Hedgehogs love eating cigarette ends. (I have witnessed this) The chemicals in the tobacco gets into their system and helps to repel fleas and tics. I do not know if the hedgehogs know this is why they like to eat them.
