randrew1
About six weeks ago there was a thread about using a 9x18 inch filmcamera to create 4 gigapixel images. I had a chance today to seeimages shot by Clifford Ross with a similar system. You can get someidea of his work at his website (http://www.cliffordross.com/). Toreally appreciate the format, stop by the George Eastman House inRochester and get up close to one of these 60x120 inch images.
peter_roberts4
Once again, it is a camera to shoot aerial negative fim and then scanned to digital file. This time, the camera is better in design which allows movement to control perspective.

loreneidahl
You scan a 11x14 image with a scanner that is of the type used in the project and you will have at least a 4gp image. You stick any high res film into a ULF camera ( 11x14 ,20x24 ,etc ) and scan it using a high res scanner and guess what --- A 20gp+ image -- woohoo! - Big Deal - next. Maybe if he uprezed in the scanning it he could get a 10GP file size out of it! Same idea - If I scan my 4x5 images using an Epson 3200 I will get one file size and one type of image quality. If I scan those same images usng a Lightjet or Imacon scanner I will get a totally different file size and a much better print. My negative didn't change just the the amount of information EXTRACTED from the negative changed. Why are we going over this again?
www.graemehird.com
Why are we here again? Some people are more impressed by equipment than photography, that's all.
armin_seeholzer
Is larger always better not always but much more often. Do the pictures look better maybe because they are larger. Is it a good PR tool to have this camera? Yes it gives some newspaper articles and some articles on some forums. Does it say a message yes film is still alive! Does it help the LF world maybe a tiny bit because the PR speaks about an LF camera! Does it impress me? Not at all!
