tim_schroeder
I would like to set up a system whereby I shoot a portrait with my 10D, and the image goes straight to the computer immediately. I would then like it to pop up on the monitor so I can show it to customers (and decide whether to reshoot). I am thinking this is done by portrait photographers all the time, but I have no idea how. First, how does the camera connect to the computer? Second, what software is used to pop the picture straight up? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am not even sure how to compose the search to see if the question has already been asked. Thanks!

albert lui
Camera-to-TV connection is provided by an AV cable that comes with the 10D. No special software is needed to see an image being shot or replayed, based on what my G5 manual says. Consult the 10D manual for details.
peter_steeper
The 10D and other Canon digital cameras come with an application called Remote Capture. All you need it the USB cable that came with camera. You may have it installed already. You can buy extension USB cables. Try it out. You can control many of the camera's functions with it. -Peter
peter_phan
You can shoot straight to your computer using EOS Capture, which is in EVU (EOS Viewer Utility) and DPP (Digital Photo Professional), both of which are free Canon softwares. Go to Canon's website and look under Consumer Products> EOS Camera Systems> Digital EOS Cameras> 10D> Drivers/Software. I regularly shoot tethered into DPP on my laptop.
