ralph_wilson
I have requested an answer to this from Tokina, however, their ONE customer service rep is out of the office until March 1st.

I hoped someone here might have an answer to this.

I have a Tokina 300mm f2.8 ATX lens. It is completely compatible with the Nikon D1H and works flawlessly but will not focus or communicate aperture readings with a D2H.

Does anyone know for sure if the lens can be re-chipped to work with the D2H?
chris haake
Ralph, ultimately you're going to have to talk to this guy at THK, whether we know the answer or not. By the way, he's a very nice and helpful guy. At any rate, since they're still producing a 300mm f2.8, I'd be very surprised if they couldn't rechip yours. However, I do not know the answer for a fact, so just take what I say as encouragement until March. Good luck!
elliot
I've used mine on D100, D70, D1H, F100, N65. No reason why it shouldn't work with a D2H. Havent heard of any problems with this lens. Third party lens electronic incompatability is more a canon thing. Although one time I discovered that a 400 5.6 tamron (i think it was tamron) didn't work with the digital bodies.
