phillip_anderson1
The threads in the metal adapter/collar that attaches the head to the tripod have been stripped. The only identification on the head is the word "TEMPO" and on the tripod "TEMPO VT-950". I need a replacement collar or some guidance/ideas/thoughts on how to repair the presently badly stripped female threads (the 'bolt" is OK and not replaceable). hugh_crawford1
Go to your local profesional auto parts store and ask about thread repair kits. Helicoil is a popular brand. Take your tripod to show them. A NAPA store would be a good bet

angel_o.
AS Hugh suggested, helicoils are the way to go (<A href="http://www.boellhoff.de/web/germany/en/web.nsf/HTML/184D48AF7F9062D2C1256E1C002E066C">link: helicoil</A>). You'll find these repair kits in good (=professional) tool and automobile part stores.
